Mini Myth MOD KIT, Road Map and a Little Teaser...
Hey Everyone!
Mini Myth has been out for six days and is already rapidly approaching a 1000 downloads!
This is my first game and project of this type and I am absolutely humbled by the fact that almost a thousand human beings have downloaded my game - whether just to have a quick glance or read and examine every word I've written, I REALLY appreciate people taking their time to check out my work - THANK YOU!
With that said, Mini Myth is truly a (tiny) passion project of mine and I am still spending large chunks of my spare time expanding and evolving the little roleplaying system:
Mini Myth Mod Kit
I have mentioned that I hope people engage with the system: hack it, mod it and create with it! But I also know how hard it can be to start a project from a blank page and not have any constraints, templates or guidelines to work with...
So I've created some basic templates for those interested in creating content for Mini Myth, whether it be projects you want to share with the world or just templates for use in your home brew adventures and hacks:
By the time this post is uploaded, they should be available in the Downloads section.
Roadmap: Mini Myth Pocket Box Set
Mini Myth's core rules fit on a single piece of paper that is the Hero's Handbook, but my ultimate vision for Mini Myth is for it to be expanded with tools, tables and generators and eventually grow into a more complete little roleplaying system - the kind you can put in a small tin box and bring along in your pocket.
True to the concept, it will always remain a pocket-sized game, but just have more (optional) extra little booklets, that the Loremaster and players can choose to bring along. The end goal is to have the following extra booklets (all single-page, just like the Hero's Handbook):
- A Bestiary
- Travels & Encounters
- Expanded Items, Loot & Treasures
- Expanded Skills & Spells
- Dungeon / Quest Generator
- Hexcrawl Generator
- Template for Grid & Hex-Based Maps
- An Intro Quest
Some of these, I've already begun working on, but this being a passion project, it is absolutely vital for me to be having fun producing these various booklets. With that said, I can't guarantee when, how and what exactly these final booklets will look like or whether all of them will be produced in the end, but rest assured, I really enjoy creating this stuff and want to keep going when and while I have time and eagerness to do so!
A Little Teaser...
That brings me to a quick sneak-peak behind the curtains... I can reveal that I've been working on the above-mentioned bestiary:
The shown teaser is an A7-sized card, which would be 1/8 of the Bestiary booklet, just like the Hero's Handbook. My plan is to have five A7 pages with generic fantasy humanoids, NPCs, monsters and beasts, one page with examples of boss-monsters and if possible, a single page with a brief guide/generator for creating your own monsters on the go.
The latter still needs to be tested, whether it is possible to do on a single page (challenge accepted!).
Thank You!
Finally, I once again want to thank everyone for the interest and support I've been receiving for my little project!
I'm doing my best to keep the momentum going and keep producing more content for this little system (and I hope you join along as well!).
This is purely a passion project and I do it all for the love and fun of it. I am in no way financially dependent on creating this little game, but if you like what you see, find the system fun and appreciate the work and design put into it, I always greatly appreciate any and all Pay-What-You-Want contributions.
Have fun and as always feel free to reach out to me for comments, ideas, critique, anything really! :)
Cheers!
