Hey! I tried contacting you through reddit, but either I caught you in the wrong moment or you just haven't checked it. I made a little thing that might help some players.
I think this definitely needs some external or improvised resources to be played currently. I like the use of exactly 1 six-sided die, however. My playthrough ended in the death of the party wizard from a tough encounter they were unable to flee, though the solo procedures I made were rather harsh.
Hi! Glad you gave the game a goal and interesting to see several players going the solo route with the system. I had limited time to get the project done for the one-page jam, so it's my intention to expand and grow the system into a more complete little box set with a Bestiary, Loremaster generation tools, more items, skills and spells as well as perhaps an intro adventure. Life has been a handful for me lately, so I've put the project on hold until I get things under control, but after that, I'll be back expanding the Mini Myth system, since it's a passion project of mine and I really enjoy working on it when time allows it :)
Thank you so much for your video! It's a truly humbling experience to see someone okay my game and record it - and super exciting to see it as a solo rpg as well! It's also super insightful to see you go through the rules and quirks of the little game :) Two takeaways for me, are that maybe "Mystic" is a abit of a silly choice of word and that maybe I need to clarify that rolling for initiative is only something to be done on the very first turn of a combat sequence. Either way, I am super glad you liked the game and had fun with it :) I'm working on expanding the system with some extra optional booklets featuring a Bestiary, different tables and generators for events, encounters, places, items, etc. and maybe even an intro adventure.
Really love the overall layout and the simplicity of it all! Can't wait to use this to play with some friends and see the supplements the community creates for it!
Only critique I have right now is that IMO rolling for a Stat Test (STR, NIM, MYS) should only succeed if you roll UNDER your score. Not sure what the highest allowed stat score is intended to be, but if for example, the highest is 6, and players are only rolling d6s to determine stat test outcomes, they won't need to roll for a stat that is currently at 6, because there's literally no way they can fail the roll.
IMO players, no matter how powerful they are, should still have a chance to screw up lol.
Also, I assume the dice symbols with the "?" mark inside mean the exact die to roll isn't finalized yet?
Hey, I'm super glad you like it and I also hope that people are excited enough to modify, hack and create for the little system. Behind the scenes, I'm working on creating a mod-pack, to help kick-off content creation or just for hacking the system for house rules or whatever people feel like. I'll make an update post whenever I feel things are ready to be shared along with a road map of other expansions on the system, that I might proceed to work on in the future.
As for your critique, given that it's a roll-under system and only D6, I've kept the core Stats permanent after character creation, meaning that each player will have a stat that is max 4, one that is max 3 and one that is just 2, so at best, a roll will always have a 1/3 chance of failing. There are temporary boosts that i.e. give a "-1" to a single test roll, such as the condition "Bless" and one could have (rare) single-use items that also give such a boost, but the Loremaster should (in my opinion) very rarely allow such powerful manipulations, even for single rolls. I hope that answers your critique :)
Thanks! Look forward to hearing about your experience. And also THANK YOU for creating Stravagante! It's been a huge inspiration for me and I simply adore your art! :)
Although the sizes are perfect, might be worth to check one of my mini foldable booklet. Instead of folding, by cutting the middle piece you can make a full page like book.
Hi Nicholas, thanks for your feedback and nice little system you've made! I've purposely used the folding method instead of the pocket-mod method because I wanted to keep the DIY to a minimum and have players and Loremasters be able to print the game, fold it up and start playing without any tools necessary.
Also, it was a conscious design choice to open up to a double spread with everything you need for character creation.
Lastly, you can actually use the folded format as a tiny Loremaster's screen, although it is almost symbolic since it would be fairly easy to glance over such a small surface, but I thought it is a cute bonus :)

Holy graphic design Batman! This is very well done.

Mini dice for Mini Myth. 🙂
Looking good :)
Hey, love this. I used it to run a bit of solo fun. Great work.

Again, thank you so much :)

Ohhhhh I just noticed that you can't increase stats during level up, thought I saw that in the Growth section. My bad!
Looking forward to the mod pack!
I really like the design! Although im more of d20 4 stat systems i think its a gem. Gonna try making a bestiary and a few adventures
Thank you! Really appreciate it! Sounds great! Hack away :)
Woah looking forward to seeing what you make!
Looks great! Excited to try it out :)

So clever and intuitive... I also loved the layout.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it.

Please ignore typos and general mistakes, it was my first game.

Wow, you did put some thoughts on it... Makes sense now.
